Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme

This visa program is available to Tasmanian businesses who wish to employ skilled migrants.  Under the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS), employers can nominate skilled workers who are overseas or temporarily residing in Australia.  Employers must offer a minimum of two years employment within their sponsoring business.  This visa provides successful applicants with permanent residency.

For more information on this visa visit www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/rsms

This visa requires certification from the Tasmanian Regional Certifying Body.

Regional Certifying Body

Nominations under the RSMS program must be certified by the relevant Regional Certifying Body (RCB) before being lodged with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts' Business and Skilled Migration unit has been appointed by the Minister for Immigration to perform this role for all businesses located in Tasmania.

To assist local employers, information on the processes involved, the documents required for certification and a calendar of RCB meeting dates for 2012 are available on the forms and resources page.

The Tasmanian RCB does not charge assessment fees.

Contact details for the RCB are available here.
