Employer sponsored visa pathways
Skilled, English-speaking workers can migrate to Tasmania by being sponsored by an Australian employer. If you obtain work in Tasmania prior to obtaining a visa, you may consider discussing visa sponsorship with your employer. There are two employer sponsored pathways used commonly in Tasmania.
Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)
The RSMS program is available to employers operating in a regional area of Australia allowing for skilled workers to be nominated for a permanent visa. Under the RSMS program, Tasmania qualifies as a regional area of Australia. Although similar to the Employer Nominated Scheme (ENS), RSMS has more flexible requirements and is more commonly used throughout Tasmania.

Temporary Business Visa (Subclass 457)
The Temporary Business (Long Stay) - SBS visa allows for workers to enter Australia temporarily to fill short-term skilled vacancies and to introduce new technology. Employers can sponsor workers for a period ranging from one day to four years.
