Frequently Asked Questions

The requirements say I must not have lived in another state or territory outside Tasmania in the last 12 months. Last year I had a short holiday in Queensland. Am I still eligible?
  • You may be eligible. Short visits that do not involve a long-term residential address are not considered “living in another state or territory”.
I am currently visiting Australia temporarily / was in Australia temporarily last year on a non-resident visa. Can I still apply for nomination in the overseas applicant pathways?
  • Yes, if you are/were only a short-term visitor and your visa does/did not allow employment you may register interest if you meet the other minimum nomination requirements. We may ask you for more information to show that you have not been living and working in Australia.
I have created an EOI in SkillSelect. When will you contact me?
  • There is no guarantee that you will be contacted and / or invited to apply for nomination.
  • We periodically screen EOIs in SkillSelect and will contact only those who most closely fit the skills needs profiles outlined in the Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles.
